For many adults, concern about the alignment of their teeth causes them to be embarrassed about their smile. Crooked and misaligned teeth may cause you to hide your smile away, but you may feel trapped in a catch 22 situation. Many people hear the word "orthodontics" and think of traditional metal wire and bracket braces. As well as being highly obvious, these systems traditionally have a reputation for lengthy treatment times.

While traditional braces have advanced greatly in recent years, some patients are still put off by the idea of everyone knowing they are having orthodontic treatment. Fortunately, there are now many discreet options available, which are often referred to as "invisible braces".

At Park Lane Dental, our orthodontist, Jayneet Patel, can provide a selection of invisible orthodontic treatments. The best system for you will be recommended at your orthodontic consultation.

Invisalign

Invisalign is one of the most popular invisible orthodontic treatments available. It involves using a series of clear aligners to gently move your teeth into their new position. These aligners are carefully created to fit your mouth exactly, and special computer software enables you to see what your teeth will look like at the end of treatment before you begin. You will need to change aligner every few months, and they can be removed to eat and to brush your teeth.

Inman Aligner

This fast-acting clear aligner system typically takes between just six and 18 months to complete. The Inman Aligner contains titanium springs and bows that use gentle forces to move your teeth into the desired position. You can remove the aligner for short periods to eat and to clean your teeth, ensuring they stay healthy.
